How to Add a Deviant Art Journal to a Folder
If yous are going to strength Eclipse on everyone, the least yous tin can do is fix and FINISH the website first!
This is meant to exist a comprehensive, alphabetized list of all the features that are either tarnished by Eclipse, flat-out removed, subconscious, or replaced. I volition continue to update this as I discover things that are missing or broken.
Update: I added what danlev wrote in his comment. Note that what he wrote is in bold. Merely that doesn't mean they're easy to find. There is notwithstanding much to be done on this to arrive 100% functional.
Removed Features:
Manage deviations and friends list via the bill of fare. (See screenshots beneath.)
The preview button for comments is missing in eclipse.
A search engine in add media. (In Eclipse, it doesn't exist. Please, bring information technology back. Thanks.)
If you are an admin for a group, currently y'all can view messages for the group, submitted deviations, etc., from your own notifications folio. That isn't there in Eclipse. I have written to them almost it and gotten no response. In the new site, you take to get to the groups' page and then to the admin there and search through the different sections to view everything. Much more of a hassle than actually viewing on one simple page. - AnEnchantedSpirit
Power to center text in journals. (In Eclipse, it doesn't exist.)
Elevate and drop and rearrange folders, favorites/collections. (In Eclipse, y'all have to become into the Edit mode and then manually move each favorite over by one using a push. There's no way to mass select and move all at in one case nor is there a way to drag and drop to the very bottom or peak of the collection.) You lot cannot even import favorites into group folders past using the drag and drop method anymore. Special thanks to quantummechonis for mentioning this notable characteristic. (Yeah, this was removed. We built the < and > arrows as a simple start version, but nosotros hope to add drag and drib in the future.) The splinter carte for messages is missing in eclipse. (See the screenshot below.)
"Browse More Like This" search feature.
A download count brandish. In this way, we could see how many of them downloaded our departure. It doesn't exist in this update.
Comment editing - (Still exists. We are planning on expanding editing so that you can edit a comment at whatsoever time, rather than the showtime 24 hours (as it was on the quondam site). This change volition come once the erstwhile site is phased out.)

Custom periodical skins.
"I Merely Sold" contour widget.
Image transparency in emote content previews.
Inserting :pollex: images. (Withal exists. You can still use thumb codes.)
"Friends" profile widget. (Nevertheless exists, on the Virtually folio.)
"Forum" profile widget.
HTML and CSS coding.
Pages browsing in personal galleries/favorites. (Even so exists)
"Shoutbox" profile widget (Will be even better with real-time chat, which is coming presently!)
Sta.sh Writer (temporary) (This is replaced by the new editor, just yes, the Writer volition be phased out for creating new content.)
Toggling for icon displays of different widgets, site gallery.
Critique widget.
Prints.
Featured print.
Donate points (Yet exists.)
Recent activity (Still exists in Nigh.)
Twitter widget.
Journal history (Journal history browsing has been improved, with a new thumbnail view. Information technology wasn't removed.)
Commissions (It'southward probably there, but just God knows where they throw information technology.) (However exists and new and improved! We take a new defended page for Commissions, the ability to link to commissions, redesigned pages for them, and browse and searchable commissions, too!)
Stray ID (Information technology'southward expressionless! Y'all can no longer submit your favorite photo to showcase it to your followers.) (Wasn't removed, just updated. We changed the name "Deviant ID" because it wasn't an intuitive name. We think "About Me" is just cleaner and simpler to understand. We updated it with a more customizable "Nigh" section. You lot tin can add images here if you'd like, formatting, selfie, showcase your favorite photos, etc.)
Departure and friends listing manager. (In Eclipse, it doesn't exist.)
Add together to the group push button (It took a hike.) (Withal exists, simply it's missing some features. Nosotros're working on it!)
Mature toggle -- Notwithstanding exists, and new and improved! It's in the profile driblet-down so y'all can turn it on or off on any page across the site!
Daily page views and other statistics. (See the screenshot below.)
Show signatures
Hidden recent activity page. (Here'south what is missing in that category):
Forum comments.
Contour comments.
Status comment.
Watching.
Comments.
Newest deviations and favorites.
Daily page views - New and improved and interactive in the Stats and Insights feature!
Online - offline status. (Y'all have no idea is someone active or not.) (Yep, this was removed, simply information technology volition likely come up in a improve way with the upcoming real-time Chat feature.)
Wishlist.
Store (Still exists.)
"Watches you" pop-up chimera oral communication. (It's gone. Y'all don't know who is watching you and who doesn't.) (Still exists, and we improved it to also show your mutual friends!)
Birthday notices! Bring that back, delight!
^The navigation tab in the mailbox doesn't be, so it's going to be harder for the states to manage our mailbox and messages that we received from our followers.
^ Ability to schedule comments on our profile and further. In eclipse, it doesn't exist!
^ They are also removing this navigation, which allows you to discover a random deviant, group, illustration, or art that requires a critique.
Chat. (Still exists. Plus, we're adding a new real-time conversation characteristic in addition to the old chat.)
Submission categories in eclipse don't be or they are hidden. Some of them are even locked. (Run into the screenshot below. You can thank Oha for this.)
DeviantART Muro.
Correspondence. (Still exists.)
Remove from the notifications push button. (With the assistance of this push, you could remove the illustration subsequently you viewed it. In eclipse, information technology doesn't exist.)
Add to favorites button. (The new one is a mess! It's impossible to use information technology, let alone create a new folder with the aid of a drop-downwardly menu.)
Import to muro push. (It took a hike, or information technology'southward there, simply God knows where.)
Lama trading for points. (In Eclipse, information technology'south expressionless! Encounter the screenshot below.)
Enable print sale! (The push button doesn't exist. Or it's in that location, but information technology'south hidden.) (I don't think we've had the "enable print" button for many many years. It's non currently on the erstwhile site, but you tin can easily enable a print past editing a deviation. (Or on submit))
General category. (Information technology allows you to go to general settings to adjust the setting on your contour by using a drop-downwardly card under your username. In eclipse, it doesn't exist. See the screenshot below.) (Yet exists. There haven't been whatsoever changes with this?) Edit: Information technology exists, but it's "improved."
The category navigation bar on the left doesn't be. (See the screenshot below.)
Gear button on the front page that allows yous to conform browsing technique. (Information technology took a hike. See the screenshot below.)
Ruined/Cleaved Features! (Y'all can thank Chiwowza on this):
"Virtually Me": widget takes up way as well much space; the "Virtually" page is cumbersome and poorly formatted.
"Add Media": the window is way too narrow, icon previews are inconsistent and inaccurately sized. Some of them are even bloated. The add media list is also narrow. Plus, 2 notable functions are missing. Quick access to your gallery, favorites, the search engine for emotes, and sta.sh storage. (Come across the screenshot below.)
Content previews: cumbersome layout, zooming in opens a new window; small images are now placed onto a hideous white block background.
Core membership: popular and iconic features are either being completely removed or given to non-Core members.
Custom boxes: pointless, limited to three, and I have no save push button.
Navigation Bar: icon hitboxes are way too sensitive and ofttimes open pages without being clicked.
Notifications: separating each section makes it tedious to use; alerts sometimes will not go away.
Personal gallery: images are too large; folders now use slideshow functionality and are tiresome to view.
Profile thumbnails: blown up as well much, make pixel images blurry.
Profile widgets: excessively large, restricted to certain sides of the page; some cannot exist removed.
Search bar: sometimes unresponsive, and in that location are two of them for some reason?
Sidebar thumbnails: pixel art looks disgusting; everything is cropped equally foursquare and diddled upward equally big as possible.
Site gallery: poorly spaced, images are jarringly huge, nonsensical organization.
Original portfolio: they replaced the original one that was part of this site for +15 years with a new one made by Wix. (You had ameliorate watch out for what you are doing considering DeviantART Inc. did not implement this portfolio. You must concur to Wix's terms of service earlier you utilise it.)
The thumbnail for this short motion-picture show in the comment goes across the whole page. The comment is too narrowed, making it impossible for me to read it. A lot of emptiness with padding on both sides of the screen. I more prefer a comment chain to have the same look that it has on the quondam platform, then narrowing it and making it looks worse. There are still also many popup windows to click to view a complete give-and-take. The navigation tabs on the left side of the screen are missing. Trying to view your messages in the mailbox while you are using eclipse is a headache.
The mailbox is likewise squashed with besides much padding and space on both sides of the screen. Information technology will be a headache for people who wear glasses with high diopters to view letters in the eclipse. Some users have 2K, 4K, and 6K (retina display) that have loftier resolution and zooming. The browsing technique in eclipse is horrendous! Everything is minor and compressed. You have to click the download button to download the difference to zoom in. Edit and delete buttons for illustrations are too small. They are too close to each other, so in that location is a run a risk for yous to delete the illustration instead of updating it.
The text in journals in eclipse is too narrow. Likewise much emptiness with padding. The text, which screen resolution you have, should expand past itself. It shouldn't remain stuck in the aforementioned position. The text should be readable, examined, and spacious, not narrowed to wait like a wood of messages and sentences. On the old platform, you could view journals without any issues. Thanks to this padding and tapering, it is incommunicable to read it, allow alone look at it.
Besides much emptiness while viewing art and the description in someone's gallery + the text is likewise squashed. (See the screenshot beneath. Y'all can thank Hellypse on this!)
Check out these concepts and feedback on eclipse. Don't forget to share them!

^ There are some comprehensive reviews there from diverse authors showing a lot of what is wrong with the new platform, and more than are probable to be posted before long.
Other bugs:
I'm having issues with writing comments and mentioning someone. If I write someone's username past using mention codes, half of the text deletes by itself. Does anybody else have this result? This is very frustrating. Undo/redo method via the keyboard no longer works. It's similar everything is obstructed. Speaking of bugs, I noticed several of them.
"Elevate to motility Hero Image" doesn't work.
"Change Background" is barely clickable. It works, but partially. The website is slow. It takes too much time to load.
Add together to the group button is dead. It lacks a search engine that I used to find other groups. Without it, I cannot notice other groups. When I click "add together to the grouping," the tab freezes, and information technology's unresponsive to mouse commands. The new UI is utilizing too much memory.
I am no longer receiving group notifications when somebody uploads a new illustration. I am only notified when I upload my art into the grouping'southward folder. When scrolling down my profile page, I could encounter my entire cover paradigm flashing through the background of my contour. If I do fast scrolling, then the page will offset jumping and freezing.
Somebody was lament about how he no longer tin can delete messages in his notifications. He got a bunch of messages from Da--Revolution today, mostly about adding pictures to the group galleries; he can accept, pass up, or ignore them, but there is no way to delete them.
The list that shows yous how many people added to the favorites your art on your departure page is and so tiny, and the number count below it is even smaller and almost impossible to find. What happened to the good sometime list that was big and viewable? Why make it similar that? I cannot imagine how smaller the mobile device version is if information technology looks small on my reckoner screen.
The banner for the periodical is too enormous. I have to ringlet down to read the text. I don't need a stupid banner to have almost the whole screen. Remove it because it'south useless, or at least scales it down to accept less space on the screen. Browsing statuses and journals on someone'due south profile is a hassle and a nightmare! It lags the browser, and the only solution for me is to kill the process by going to the task manager via Shift + Esc and click "terminate process."
You besides claim that this update is without advertisements. If then, why is the ad blocker obstructing advertisements 5 times more earlier? uBlock origin obstructed 45 on this page, and the number is growing, while on the classic UI, he would obstruct just 5-x. Your merits doesn't hold the h2o.
Speaking of small, why is the "Add Emote or Avatar" tiny? In fact, why even alter that whatsoever? The "Add Media" was perfect and amend with very little load time. With this version, information technology is constant scroll, load, scroll with poor search results. That did non happen with Add Media.
Why make two Home Pages when one is enough? That dwelling area could have been for the Daily Deviation. Pointless.
Why do custom boxes have "Aggrandize" when you lot got "Theater View?" It is another pointless option and a waste of development time. This is why so many site developers exam and bug set up their products behind closed doors earlier releasing them to the public. And then their customers practise not have to experience this frustrating and tedious product 24/7.
All right, that would exist all for today. Last update: xx/half dozen/2020 12:12
